Rush Limbaugh, the controversial radio commentator, has publicly announced that he wants to debate President Barack Obama.
I say he should do it.
It was a mistake for Obama to acknowledge Limbaugh in the first place, but now that that's done, I think the only way for Obama to get him out of the picture is to take him on, mano a mano. Otherwise, Limbaugh is going to be hovering nearby taking advantage of every little slip-up, and he'll be doing that for all of Obama's time in office. Does Obama need that distraction? I think not. So I say: Take him on, Mr. President - or get used to having that wolf baying at the door for the next 4 years.

Meh. I don't think there's any upside to going on Limbaugh's show.
Rushbo is still going to hammer away at Obama, same as O'Reilly did after the then-Democratic nominee came on his Fox News TV show.
For Obama, it's best to keep at arms' length. As far as I know, Obama hasn't directly addressed anything about Limbaugh. But his staff has been doing invoking the name of Rush in interviews.
Obama won the election, and he's got lots to do. No need is trying to convince the hardliners ... his mission and reach is broader than that. Either way, Rush is going to pull in massive numbers.
Limbaugh's a snake who strikes at the heels. He is harmless but annoying. Leave him be and do not go down that path.
